Hi Allan
I just want to thank you and Kim for the fabulous weekend, I cannot begin to thank you guys for all of your help and advice.
The places you took us to and shots you helped with was just amazing, a truly unforgettable experience.
Thanks again and look forward to doing the Macro next year

If you know where and when to go, the Maniototo has more fabulous photo locations than a person could ‘shake a stick at’.
The Maniototo is our back yard.  We’ve been going up there taking photos and running workshops for years now. In that time we think we’ve found some pretty cool locations.
More than anything, this photography tour/workshop is about getting you to the right locations, under the right light conditions, so you can work your magic.
Of course we’re right there for any technical or compositional help that you may need along the way.  With a maximum of five clients you’ll get lots of one-on-one time if you want it.

From Thursday, mid afternoon of the 3rd of May, to Sundau afternoon of the 6th, 2018.

We’ll be staying at the Wedderburn Cottages, where everyone gets their own room with an ensuite bathroom and kichenette.
Bedding and towels are supplied.
We stay here because it’s nice, comfortable accommodation, and it’s smack in the middle of some wonderful landscape locations.

For more information on accommodation click here

We will provide all the food for the weekend. We will dine at the Wedderburn tavern for two evening meals (100m down the road from the accommodation. Drinks at the tavern are at your own cost) and the third we be out on location. Breakfast will be continental style. Vegemite sandwiches for lunch if I have my way, something much yummier if Kim has her way (Kim always has her way).

We ask that you provide your own transport to and from the accommodation and that you are prepared to drive from where we are staying to each photography location.  (People often pool transport to the photo locations.)

What to bring:

Warm clothing, including a hat and gloves
Footwear suitable for outdoor terrain e.g. dry farm land
Camera and lenses
Tripod (if you don't have one let us know and we'll lend you one)
Camera batteries and charger
Spare memory
A laptop with photo editing software
A sense of adventure and the willingness to give something new a go!

Equipment borrowing:

Some equipment can be borrowed and we’ll have some specialty equipment with us for you to try.
Let us know if you feel you are short of anything as we may be able to help.

Structure of the days:

We’ll be up early and out late to capture the best light.  During the heat of the day, we will go to locations that aren’t so light dependant and where, if you choose, you can just chill out.
The Maniototo is also one of the best 'dark sky' locations in NZ and as there will be a late moon rise that weekend, we can do some astrophotography one evening (If people are interested. It's easier than you imagine!). Last year we got to photograph an amazing aurora.

$1300. This includes accommodation and all food.

We require a deposit of $400 to secure your place.
